We’re thrilled to share progress on Pilot 2 activities for the CIRCUIT Project, dedicated to reducing energy consumption in tunnels!
Our team recently visited the Hoz Tunnel on the A-8 Motorway, a major transportation route in northern Spain managed by the Spanish Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MITMA). The visit provided invaluable insights and opened doors for exciting technological integrations aimed at making tunnel operations more energy-efficient.
🔸 Key Outcomes of the Visit:
🔧 Integration with Upgrades: With MITMAS upgrading the tunnel installations, we have a fantastic opportunity to incorporate CIRCUIT technologies. Our integration will focus on reducing energy consumption in lighting and ventilation, aligning seamlessly with the existing tunnel control systems.
🌀 Advanced Control Systems: We have planned the installation of advanced controllers and are developing algorithms to optimize fan speed and activation sequences, enhancing the tunnel’s ventilation efficiency.
💡 Adaptive Lighting Solutions: Additionally, we’re implementing a luminance measurement and remote-control system to transform the new lighting setup into a Full Adaptive Lighting System. This innovative solution will adjust energy usage based on real-time factors like weather ☀, traffic 🚗, and luminance 💡, leading to even greater energy savings.
